A vacancy exists for the position of Facilities Manager, Buildings and Grounds. This position is responsible for overall management of Community based school district Facilities Maintenance and Support Services encompassing up to 1 million sq. ft. of office, school buildings, and ancillary buildings serving Chester County.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s Degree in architecture, engineering, or a related field plus a minimum of 10 year’s experience working at a senior supervisory or administrative level in facilities or property management. Facilities Management and supervisory experience within the public education sector is preferred.
- Knowledge and an understanding of the trades, codes and regulations.
- General knowledge and understanding of EPA and the DEP of Pennsylvania environmental laws.
- Ability to understand and comply with written and/or oral instructions and directives.
- General knowledge of HVAC, electrical, plumbing, carpentry, and other related maintenance and operations practices.
- Ability to read and work from basic plans, blueprints, schematics, and diagrams.
- Have a valid PA driver’s license.
- Ability to operate snow and ice removal equipment.
- Experience with AHERA (asbestos) inspections and removal.
Duties and Responsibilities:
- Procurement of supplies, materials, equipment and vehicles, management and coordination of construction activities
- Management and implementation of the capital budget including supervision of facilities and support, supervisory, and office staff as well as direct supervision of technical trades staff.
- Responsible for departmental budget development and management.
- Acts as primary resource to district administrators and staff in all matters relating to facilities and operational support services.
- Responsible for the development and management/implementation of the energy management plan.
- Provides oversight to all contracted facilities and grounds related services within the district.

$61,694 - $77,117; In addition to the base salary; additional annual merit computation will be set using a performance factor up to 12% of salary based on the perfomance evaulation tool. |
