Description

At the present time, 2 vacancies for a full-time Teacher Center Assistant position exists within the Division of Innovative Educational Services of the Chester County Intermediate Unit. This position works at two locations, the Fingerprinting Services at the CCIU Educational Services Center in Downingtown, PA and the Teacher Center at the CCIU Learning Center in Coatesville, PA.  The schedule is generally 2-3 days a week at each location.  Travel is required between the locations.

 

This full-time position provides resource, instructional, material, and technology support to Teacher Center customers.  This position provides fingerprinting services and clearance background check support for various members of the community in support of the criminal history record inquiry system.  This position also provides support for Teacher Center, IES division, and CCIU programs.

 

Qualifications:

  • High School Diploma or GED required. Bachelor’s degree preferred.
  • Previous experience working with teachers.
  • Experience with Educational Technology practices, hardware and software preferred.
  • Knowledge of Mac and PC computer systems.
  • Background in educational theory and practice preferred.

Duties & Responsibilities

  • Support Teacher Center services including fingerprinting, laminating, material creation, and administrative duties.  Provide ideas and resources to continuously improve the Teacher Center.
  • Support the Criminal History Record Inquiry System by fingerprinting applicants, providing support for fingerprinting and background check related inquiries, performing updates, and processing fingerprinting payments.  Some travel required for fingerprinting services.
  • Facilitate the inter-library loan program for school district libraries.
  • Assist the TC Manager with record keeping, inventory, equipment maintenance, and events.
  • Maintain the Teacher Center Lending Library (ie flip video cameras, kindles, etc).
  • Assist teachers with the creation of instructional materials and technology integrations.
  • Communicate information about Teacher Center, IES, and CCIU services to customers.
  • Provide orientations/tours of the Teacher Center and its resources.
  • Conduct project research mainly in the area of educational technology.
  • Provide excellent customer service and demonstrate strong communication skills.

Salary:  $ 13.11

 

Schedule:  7.5 hours per day; Core business hours Monday – Friday 9:00 am-5:00 pm, with overtime as needed; 260 days per year
