At the present time, a vacancy exists for Special Education Teacher on Assignment within the Division of Student Services of the CCIU. The first assignment is Autistic Support with the Unionville- Chadds Ford School District within Chester County; this position will have various assignments at the request of districts.
Qualifications:
- Minimum of a bachelor level degree in education required
- 3-5 years experience working with students with intellectual disabilities, autism and significant challenging behavior required
- PDE certification in special education required
- Experience with modifying general education content to meet the diverse needs of students
- Current police, child abuse & FBI fingerprint clearances
- Clearance as an MA provider by the Commonwealth of PA and federal government (conducted by CCIU upon hire)
Duties & Responsibilities:
- Instruct individuals in special education skill areas
- Plan curriculum, lessons, and special education programs and teaching methods
- Evaluate and monitor student progress based on classroom performance, test scores, and observation of behavior
- Support objectives and interventions of the educational program
- Maintain safe physical environment of the classroom
- Maintain contact with parents of students and/or professionals concerning student progress
- Develop IEPs addressing specific academic, behavioral, and speech needs of students
- Prepare report cards, educational records, classroom observation records, and other documentation as required. Function as integral member of treatment/IEP team, addressing needs of students
Salary:
- Pro-rated: $50,273 to $82,184 - Instr. I Cert.; $52,530 to $85,534 - Instr. II Cert.; $55,974 to $93,539 - Master's Degree; $59,774 - $99,069 - Masters + 30
