At the present time, a vacancy for a Special Education Teacher exists within the Division of Student Services at the Chester County Intermediate Unit. The position will be located at the Chester County Youth Center in West Chester, PA.
Qualifications:
- Minimum of a bachelor level degree in education required.
- Secondary (7-12) special education teacher certification required.
- Highly qualified preferred.
- Current police, child abuse & FBI fingerprint clearances.
- Clearance as an MA provider by the Commonwealth of PA and federal government (conducted by CCIU upon hire).
Duties & Responsibilities:
- Instruct individual students in special education skill areas within the classroom.
- Plan lessons using a variety of teaching methods to engage the students.
- Evaluate and monitor student progress based on individual performance and observation of behavior.
- Implement all aspects of the student's IEP.
- Maintain safe physical environment within the classroom.
- Maintain contact with students' parents and/or school district personnel concerning student progress.
- Develop IEPs addressing specific academic and behavioral needs of students. Function as integral member of IEP team, addressing needs of student.
- Prepare report cards, educational records, classroom observation records, and other documentation as required.
Salary:
- $50,841 to $82,911 - Instr. I Cert.
- $53,110 to $86,278 - Instr. II Cert.
- $56,571 to $94,323 - Master's Degree
- $59,077 to $98,082 - Master's +15
- $60,390 to $99,881 - Master's + 30
