A vacancy for a FT Professional Mentor position and an LTS position tentatively for the time frame of August, 2018 through January, 2019 will exist within the Human Resources Department of the Chester County Intermediate Unit beginning with the 2018 -2019 school year.  

Qualifications:

• Minimum of five years as a professional employee of the CCIU with a consistent "satisfactory" or higher rating and an Instructional II certificate. 
• Master’s degree.  (A candidate enrolled in a master's program may be considered.) 
• Must have knowledge and experience with CCIU policies, procedures and resources.
• Demonstrate a working knowledge of current research-based professional education practices, including collegial coaching and adult learning. 
• Demonstrate proficiency in IEP writing and implementation. 
• Demonstrate exceptional communication skills, listening skills, and problem solving skills.
• Active participation in continuing professional education. 
• Ability to use technology for instruction, communication, and collaboration.
• Must be a model of professionalism.
• Candidate must provide a letter of recommendation from his/her supervisor along with application, cover letter, and resume.

Duties and Responsibilities:

The Professional Mentor is the core of the professional inductees’ support team who provides a professional role model for newly hired professional employees.  The mentor promotes a productive and positive self-concept by providing supportive, non-evaluative assistance.  The mentor guides newly hired professionals through successful completion of criteria identified by CCIU and required by PDE for professional inductees.

Schedule:  Monday through Friday

Salary:  $53,110 (Instructional II Certificate) to $99,881 (Master's +30) Salary based on 2017 - 2018 Professional Salary Schedule
